A 1-year recovery programme for carers and former carers in Merton experiencing bereavement, grief, and loss after caring.
A 1-year recovery programme for carers and former carers in Merton experiencing bereavement, grief, and loss after caring.
Life After Caring is a bereavement and loss recovery programme created for carers and former carers living in Merton who are affected by grief, bereavement, unresolved loss, or the emotional impact of caring.
Starting in March 2026, this trauma-informed and confidential programme will provide a safe, compassionate, and reflective space for people to process loss and begin healing at their own pace.
The course has been developed jointly by James Green of Life Enrichment and Marcella Meloni, Avanti Managing Director. Both are qualified bereavement practitioners with extensive experience in supporting people through grief, loss, and major life transitions.
The programme includes 6 weekly sessions, followed by ongoing monthly peer support sessions, offering continued support for those adjusting to life after caring.
This additional service strengthens Avanti’s commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of carers in the local community.
We are grateful to Merton Giving for funding this valuable programme.
